Now Hiring: Special Education Instructional Assistants (IA) & Paraeducators

Oakland & Richmond, CA – School Year 2024-2025
Hourly Pay: $18 - $25

Are you passionate about supporting students with special needs? Celebrations Speech Group is seeking Special Education Instructional Assistants (IA) and Paraeducators for full-inclusion charter schools in Oakland and Richmond, CA. In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group academic instruction to special education students under the guidance of an Education Specialist.

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education IA or Paraeducator, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special needs, aligned with their IEPs.
Collaborate with Special Education teachers to implement curriculum modifications and deliver differentiated instruction.
Assist with physical, health, and mobility needs, including toileting, feeding, and administering medication under supervision.
Implement behavior management strategies and support students’ social-emotional growth.
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips.
Provide standardized testing accommodations, including extended time and supervision.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
NCLB Compliant: Must meet one of the following—48 college units, Associate’s degree, or pass a Paraprofessional Skills Examination.
Preferred: Experience working with students with moderate to severe needs.
Preferred: CPR and First Aid certification.
Physical ability to assist students with mobility and stamina for active tasks.
